Tutoro Chain Oiler
A while ago I was looking into motorcycle chain-oilers and asking some of our members, most of them were recomending the scott-oiler system.
While it really seems to be a very sophisticated system, the price was a bit much and I just couldn't get myself spending that kind of money.
Right at the same time the Ride Magazine was running a test of different chain oilers and I am sure to the suprise of many an unknown product got the "Best Buy" award.
Not only was it the best in test, but it was also the cheapest and easiest to install. Starting from £16.99, you can't get much cheaper then that.
Five minutes after reading the article I was online ordering the Tutoro (Top Up, Turn On, Ride Off - get it?) Twin Kit. Living in Belgium I was expecting it to take a few weeks to arrive, but to my surprise 5 days later it landed in my postbox.
It arrived in an A5 Envelope and included everything you need to fit the system to your bike, including instructions.
Here is what the website says:
The single feed TUTORO kit
The TUTORO single feed nozzle kit has been created to deliver high-performance lubrication to a single side of your bike chain. The design has been rigorously tested and is now being used by customers in 4 different continents. What's more, the product will not invalidate any manufacturers warranty and is simple and quick to fit. See below for a picture of the standard components which come when your order a single feed kit.

The NEW Twin-feed nozzle kit
The twin-feed nozzle kit is a new development, allowing for both sides of the chain to be lubricated simultaneously whilst the oiler is turned on. Investing in a twin-feed nozzle kit is ideal for those customers who are looking to maximise their chain life with the TUTORO chain oiler product. The kit contains exactly the same components, but you are supplied with a twin-feed nozzle instead of a single-feed

There you have it. Ofcourse it is not as sophisticated as the Scottoiler system. You have to manually switch the oiler on when you ride-off and off when you stop for longer periods. That might not be for everyone as it is easily forgotten.
The installation took about 30 minutes and no special tools are required.
I have been using this system for over 6 month now and for me it is nearly perfect. Yes, I have forgotten to switch it on and I have forgotten to switch it off which results into a large oil spill below the bike. That's a bit annoying. But I am very happy for the time it saved me oiling and cleaning the chain. I have ended up placing a note on my steering column reminding me to switch it on and off, works for me.
