Daytona Boots

Daytona Boots

Daytona Boots are renowned not only for their robust construction, but also for their price. I bought these boots in the autumn of 2001. I was a bit cautious, mainly because of the price, I forgot the exact price I paid but they were approximate. £250, and I had never paid that much for a pair before.

They are now nearly 9 years old, and I cover approximate. 17,000 miles a year in them. They are still totally waterproof (thanks to the GoreTex membrane) and have had a few spills over the years wearing them. They have saved my foot on more than one occasion. I did have them sent back to the factory about 3 years ago for refurbishing., which did cost £80, but for that they came back nearly as good as new, with new soles etc.

The Velcro on it has started to go, they could do with new Velcro being  fitted, but after all this time I do really expect that.

The only design fault with these particular boots, is that I find them a bit low, would rather have them higher, as when wearing waterproofs I like them to be outside the boot for obvious reasons, and these can have the waterproofs riding above them unless you manage to get a pair of extra long trousers.

Having said that I would highly recommend them - expensive but worth every penny.
