Arai Chaser Helmet
While looking for a new helmet a few years back, I decided not to save money on one of the most important security devices a biker can own, but to make sure that it fits right, will work all year around and provides the best possible protection. After trying lots of different ones I stuck with the Arai Chaser. It just fits my head like a glove and the pinlock system should provide the all weather ability I require.
I now have owned this helmet for over 3 years and it has never let me down. It really had a chance to proof itself while commuting into London every day for over a year and on several trips to France, Germany and Spain. It still fits perfectly (washing the inners from time to time) and the pinlock system has never let me down on cold and wet weather. The vents are brilliant too and work wonders during hot days. I can open or close the vents with any type of glove I own and the visor lock does not provide any problems once you get to know it. The padding is very comfortable. I always wear a thin additional head cover because I do sweat a lot, but this also keeps the padding clean and prevents bad smell. I only use warm water and washing-up liquid to clean the outside and the visor which gives the chaser a nice shine. A drop of visor fluid applied to the joints helps wonders and I can only recommend to use it regularly.
I now bought myself another Arai RX7 on the last MCN Motor Show in London and the fit is pretty much the same. It has a few extras I will need to test, but however, the Chaser will stay one of my favourite helmets and if it fits you right is worth every penny.
