89th European Motor Show Brussels

89th European Motor Show Brussels

Like in many European countries, Belgium has its main Motor show at the beginning of the year. Being such a small country they decided to have cars one year and bikes and vans every other year. This year, you might have guessed it, it was Motorcycle time and I was seriously excited. Having read all the article about the new bikes, I wanted to touch them, sit on them and buying them (once I won the lottery).

The show is on for 10 days and attracts over 3 million people from all over Belgium and the neighbouring countries. That means, manufactures really put a show on and are very eager to convince you about their products. Actually most stalls here are from manufactures and that is a very refreshing difference to most other shows in Europe.

I arrived on the opening bell, walked in and felt like a grown man in a grown man toy shop: BIKES, BIKES and more bikes. Like I always do, I first went around all the exhibition areas to get a good picture on all the displayed. After that, I systematically move from one area to the other, looking at everything in detail.

Just finished the first exhibition hall, moving on to the next, when "bang" all the lights went off. Total power cut. I couldn't believe it. Once my eyes adjusted, I was still able to take the rest in, but couldn't take any pictures.
